Advanced Reporting

Examen SDF tests provide the most sensitive and clinically actionable data on sperm DNA integrity. Unlike other assays that rely on estimation, SpermComet® offers a direct measurement of DNA breaks, ensuring superior prognostic value for male infertility and ART success.

Exact® Test Report

Measures Total SDF Damage

While other tests only estimate susceptibility to DNA damage, Exact provides a direct measurement of the DNA damage itself – making it the most accurate and clinically useful test for Total SDF damage

By determining the overall integrity of sperm DNA, Exact provides insights into potential fertility issues.

Elevated levels of DNA fragmentation detected by this test have been associated with reduced fertilisation rates and poorer embryo quality in ART.

ExactPrep & ExactSSR results do not include comparisons to the profile of a typical fertile male.

DNA Fragmentation Distribution

The DNA Fragmentation Distribution histogram illustrates the proportion (%) of sperm falling into various damage categories – low, medium, and high.

For Exact & ExactFocus, the profile of a typical fertile male is also shown superimposed onto your results so you can see how your SDF damage distribution compares.

Average Total Sperm DNA Fragmentation Score

The average SDF score indicates the average percentage of DNA fragmentation of each sperm in the semen sample.

A score from 0%-31% is within the fertile range. A score >31% is outside the fertile range and has an increased risk of infertility.

% DNA Fragmentation Category

The split of the sample between each DNA fragmentation category – low, medium, and high. For Exact & ExactFocus, it can be directly compared to that of a typical fertile male.

Extend® Test Report

Measures Double-Stranded DNA Damage

Unlike single-strand SDF damage, dsDBs originate during spermatogenesis.

By detecting elevated levels of dsDB, Extend helps identify male-factor contributions to RPL and the success of IVF treatment, offering critical insights.

dsDBs cannot be repaired by the sperm itself – repair depends entirely on the female egg, and this capability to repair dsDBs declines as female egg age advances.

ExtendPrep results do not include comparisons to the profile of a typical fertile male.

Average Double-Stranded DNA Fragmentation score

An Average dsDB score between 0%-6% is within the fertile range. A score above 6% is outside the fertile range and in increased risk or RPL.

% DNA Fragmentation Category

The DNA Fragmentation Distribution Histogram shows the proportion of the sample that falls into low, medium, and high dsDB damage categories, providing further insight into the severity of the damage.
